Recently, we presented at IBM’s stand at Asia Tech (ATX) 2024 a major tech conference in Singapore. This gathering was aimed at bringing together the tech community from the APAC region. Generative AI uses and its governance were key topics and Turba Media founders Effi and Matt spoke about our disruptive solution to a large and interested crowd.

At Turba Media, we believe the journey doesn’t have to be traveled alone. Building communities for our customers is what we do. At the ATX Singapore 24 conference recently we discovered other tech enthusiasts and entrepreneurs in the APAC region, navigating the startup landscape. By coming together to share experiences, we can collectively learn and grow.

Conferences are one means of  connecting people who might not meet at a regular networking event. Participants found that these methods of collaborative exploration stimulated intuitive wisdom, fostered creativity, and inspired new ideas. Through our community involvement and creative idea-sharing, we brought everyone closer together, helping them all learn from one another (and from us).

Many participants, operators ranging from tech startups and established tech organisations to giants like IBM,  across the APAC region, shared their struggles with overcoming technical challenges and scaling their solutions. Over the past year, many startups have turned to AI and machine learning to address these barriers. Thanks to community-based knowledge-sharing, this trend is becoming more common.

Everyone agreed on the importance of connecting with other tech professionals. In a highly competitive tech space, it can be challenging to find someone to discuss specific problems with. A support network of like-minded individuals can be a tremendous relief.

Community brings more resources, accelerating growth. You don’t have to host or attend extravagant events to connect with fellow aspiring entrepreneurs. Networking on social media or at local tech meetups is a great way to meet others on similar journeys. Better yet, start or join an entrepreneur support community. Some good fits might be an in-person club like a ‘mastermind,’ meetup group, or a local chapter hosted by an accelerator or an organisation like ours at Turba Media.

But don’t just follow people’s social accounts or collect business cards and forget about them. Engage! Connect on a personal level! We need to find ways to help each other grow. Any way you can benefit someone else’s business will almost always benefit you in the long run.

In the tech startup world, collaboration between local developers and international partners is key, and we’re passionate about helping these groups develop connections based on shared values.
